 The 2026 season of Silents at the Senate celebrates spooky season with a dark fantasy tale, Faust, presented on our big screen to celebrate its centennial year! A masterwork of German Expressionism from director F.W. Murnau, this superlative film adaptation of a legendary deal with the devil will be accompanied by a live organ score by organist Stephen Warner on our Mighty Wurlitzer theater pipe organ.  

Join us and behold the indelible imagery of Murnau's masterwork—the stuff of illusory nightmare and collective dreams of the metaphysical realm. Let yourself be transported into its world by the alchemical magic of sound combined with vision. Just as audiences first saw it 100 years ago, you will be swept into this tale of a learned man giving into his desire for knowledge at a terrible cost, the unmatched emotional power of a live pipe organ enhancing each frame. 

And, as always, following the silent film presentation patrons will have a chance to take a tour of the organ pipe chambers and the organist will be around to field any questions you may have about theater organ and the art of silent film accompaniment!
